Sales and Marketing Manager
Our client is a well-established and fast growing downstream petroleum company located in Nairobi
with countrywide operations and an ambitious growth trajectory. In order to strengthen the pursuit of
its vision to be a leading petroleum products company, they seek applications from qualified candidates
to fill the post of:
Sales and Marketing Manager
§ The Sales and Marketing Manager will be responsible for developing and
implementing the overall sales and marketing strategy in line with the
overall corporate strategy;

Key Areas of Accountability
Specifically, the Sales and Marketing Manager shall be accountable for the following key areas:
a) Oversee the development and implementation of the sales and marketing strategy in line with the overall corporate strategy;
b) Lead a team of sales professionals in order to meet and exceed quarterly and annual sales quota targets;
c) Develop, implement, and measure regional sales strategies and plans complete with accurate forecasts;
d) Preparation and effective management of the yearly sales and marketing expense budget to meet the department’s strategic objectives;
e) Establish and direct all marketing administrative activities and operational procedures to ensure the yearly revenue are achieved;
f) Prepare and submit relevant reports throughout the year in a timely and accurate manner;
g) Manage and provide direction and supervision to staff through effective communication of expectations and performance management;
h) Identify key opportunities for business improvement through combination of analytics, qualitative insights and business acumen;
i) Conceptualize and implement projects that are geared at business growth.
Qualifications and Experience:
§ First degree in a Business with a focus in Marketing or related discipline;
§ A postgraduate qualification of a Master’s degree such as in Business Administration will be an added advantage;
§ Professional qualifications in marketing or any other recognized professional qualification;
§ A minimum of seven (5) years’ work experience with at least three (3) years at senior management level.
§ Good leadership skills, business management, interpersonal skills with excellent track record of measurable results.
Technical and Behavioural Competencies: –
§ The successful candidate will have the following attributes:
o Strong analytical insights;
o Strong business acumen;
o Ability to partner and influence both sales leaders as well as leaders in the cross functional roles that support sales across the company;
§ Strong communication skills;
§ Hands-on and entrepreneurial attitude.
