A soul tie is the unseen bond in relationships. It’s a tie in the spiritual realm that has a hold in the soul. This is a very wide topic but I’ll take us through a few things that might help.
I already mentioned what a soul tie is and to help us understand more I’ll use the below questions.
- How are they formed?
A soul tie is formed when two people have been intimate either physically, spiritually or emotionally.
Wrongful relationships can create ungodly soul ties which control our souls and become ungodly to a place to an extent of needing deliverance through Jesus Christ. You can easily form ties with people without even realizing it, hence we need to be watchful of our own spirits and the effects another person maybe having on you.
- How do I recognize that I have a tie with someone?
Signs that indicate whether you’ve formed a tie with someone are:-
- Thoughts consumed by this person as if they’re your entire world. They have power over your thought life to a point where you feel like they’re controlling your life.
- You find yourself making all your decisions based on that person watching you. It’s like allowing someone to validate you and give you your value over what God says.
- Struggling immensely in your spiritual life either by praying, reading or listening to the word of God on account of this person.
- How do I break that tie?
Your spiritual life can be greatly threatened by a deep spiritual bond that did not come from God but good thing is, God can heal, restore and forgive. He can make you whole again and mend any broken hearts.
If you feel like you have a soul tie you need to do something about it. There’s action to be taken on your part to break free from soul tie. You have to go to God with a repentant and willing heart acknowledging that your flesh is weak and you need Him to deliver you from the spiritual strong holds. When you do all these, the Holy spirit will move in you to push out what does not belong therefore, I encourage you to seek God with all your heart to be set free.
You really have to put some effort when it comes to breaking soul ties. You might feel condemned and ashamed in that process but you should continue to persevere in daily supplication of thanksgiving, acknowledge that you made a mistake, tell God about it, repent.
Don’t wallow in shame letting it eat you up inside because God is offering you forgiveness and freedom.
Having past physical relationships is like gluing cardboard pieces together and then trying to pull them apart. It may lead to darkness in your soul and parts of the soul missing. Hence, you might find your soul bound into bitterness, jealousy, envy, fear, rejection, perversion, lust, anger, strife and addictions.
Soul ties are too powerful for you to break on your own hence you need the power of our Lord Jesus.
